Rebecca Stokes

Born in Bryn Mawr Pennsylvania, Stokes has her B.A. in Theatre Arts and her BS in Psychology from the University of the South: Sewanee. Stokes is a classically trained colortura soprano, having performed with the RI Lyric Opera, as well as in the world-debute of Hilary Bell's original opera, 'The Anatomy Lesson Anatomy of Dr. Ryesuch.' She studied mime and clowning with David Landon, a Le Coq scholar, and playwriting with Romulus Linney at the Sewanee Writers' Conference where she was awarded the Sewanee Scholar prize for her play 'Animal People.' Most recently, Stokes lent her vocal talents to the DC Comics universe, voicing the role of Barbara Gordon for the soon-to-be released "Birds of Prey: Eternity", and was featured in film "A Killer Within" where she played a donut waitress: she enjoyed the props...perhaps too much. When not acting, singing, or writing, Stokes has been known to design costumes, her recent projects include "Guys and Dolls" and "Prelude to a Kiss". Her heroes are Eric Bogosian, Lindsay Lohan, and Proust. Finally, and perhaps most notably, Stokes with very little prompting can recite line for line and music cue for music cue the entirety of thecartoon classic, "The Last Unicorn" and remarkably, feel no shame whatsoever upon completion.
