
MIKE MANSHIP is an actor,
improviser and published writer from Raleigh, NC and co-founder of the
SouthCity
Theatre Company. A number of his shorter written works
have been featured in various festivals around the country, including
most recently The Wilsons, which appeared in both the 2005
Dragonfly Festival (Devanaughn Theatre) and the 2005 Boston Theatre
Marathon. SouthCity Theatre has also produced his second and
third full length plays, Critical
Acclaim and MacKenzie.
As a performer, Mike has
studied with instructors from The Neofuturists (New York troupe),
ComedySportz
(Raleigh, NC), ImprovBoston (Boston), ImprovOlympic (Chicago), The
Second City (Chicago and LA), The Annoyance Theatre (Chicago) and the
Upright Citizens Brigade (NYC). He also coaches Newton North’s
High School Troupe, Spontaneous Generation, and has taught
improvisation
for ImprovBoston and the Charles River Creative Arts Program in
Dover, MA. In addition
to teaching, he has also founded several performing ensembles,
including Furman University’s improv troupe “Improv!Able Cause” and
SouthCity Theatre’s performing ensemble, which continues on through the
grace and talents of its other dedicated members.
